Eco fashion in bags

If there is an eco fashion in the bags, Carmina Campus is its founder. Many designers are waiting to see if the new bag brand will provoke a full transformation in the field of the eco fashion. Carmina Campus is a new subdivision of the famous Fandi family – the Italian handbag fashion house, which is one of the leaders in the art of female bags. “Chants from the field” is the translation of the new follower o the ecology fashion.

The cute eco handbags are all made of recycled materials like rests of artificial leather, pieces of garden umbrellas, second hand or recycled textile materials, industrial wastes, caps of metal and plastic bottles and many others “useless” items. Due to the unique combination of materials, every handbag has its own design and unique look, which make every adherent to the uniqueness in fashion belongings really happy. Certainly, the uniqueness has its value and the bags of Carmina Campus can be bought for a good price. The most expensive of them do not overcome 500 pounds, however.

The idea for the successful eco line belongs to the Ilaria Venturini. If you are wondering who is she, the answer is simple: she is part of the big Fendi family, being a daughter of Anna Fendi. Having a “green thinking” since earliest age, Ilaria Venturini has broken the stereotypes on where and how recycled materials can be used, building the concept of production of high quality fashion accessories from wastes. At the very beginning she worked with gifted artisans, producing series of handbags with fascinating elements. Having the fashion know-how Ilaria Venturini built a totally new brand division of the famous Fendi Company.

But she didn’t stop with the bags. Following the idea of “green thinking”, the creator of Carmina Campus line dedicated part of her work and money to charity. Ilaria Venturini has cooperated with several NGOs, especially those, working in Africa. She made, for example, the so-called “baobags”: handbags, which have to remain to people, and especially o the western people, the wisdom of the baobab. Each bag has on its front a big baobab tree. The bags have rich embroideries that are hand made by African women. The bag house have promised, that 20 euros from each sold bag will be given for the “Adopt a mother” campaign.

Another campaign, supported by Carmina Campus fashion bags is related with the damage of the reproductive organs of women, named “Stop FGM” (Female Genital Multilation). The design of the bags is similar: on the front side is placed the logo “STOP FGM!”. The other side of the bags is made of metal bars, recycled pieces, and caps of bottles. Percentage of the price of every bag goes for organizations, which work for elimination of these barbarian habits not only in Africa and Asia, but also in the whole world.

Ilaria Venturini shared in an interview, that shopping of fashion items has no meaning if the person doesn’t need them. Instead of compulsive shopping it is better to enjoy the fashion item we already have, to take care about them, to think how they have been produced, and how long they can serve us. She mentioned that overuse of resources is one of the biggest sins of the modern world.
