Milan Fashion Week 2011: Gianfranco Ferré Spring/Summer 2012

Milan Fashion Week 2011: Gianfranco Ferré Spring/Summer 2012New designers  Citron and Federico Piaggi definitely made their mark at Gianfranco Ferré with next season’s spring/summer 2012 collection.

Clothes were slinky yet structured and more importantly wearable for any occasion.

Citron and Piaggi mixed soft metallic tones with fresh nudes, soft peach, rich purples and stark monochrome pieces to create a work wear wardrobe that could lead you straight from your desk into a sophisticated night out.

The staple workwear theme was strong throughout with their signature jackets stealing the show.

These came cropped, draped and oversized, matched with pleated trousers or city shorts and draped blouses.

Evening wear was bold exaggerating asymmetric and bias cuts with white crisp gowns showing off thigh-high sliced splits complete with belt, which not only cinched in the waist but elongated the frame.

Amongst simplistic and graceful designs, were minimalistic cocktail dresses that were folded showing an architectural line throughout.

However, the design duo did reach out for one statement dress which was a strapless knee-length creation emblazoned with feathers in dark chocolate brown hues.

Something simplistic by day but striking by night seemed to be Gianfranco Ferré’s forecast for next season… and boy do we like it.
